Why did I choose the RX80?
I wanted to buy an electric bike that was stylish, practical and reasonably priced. After I screened through a dozen brands, it seemed that only Chinese brands met the requirements, as other European and American brands tend to be more expensive.
I like wide-tire bikes because they look cool. These tires are 4 inches wide, making the bike look thick and suitable for terrains such as snow and sand.
I had three main criteria: a unified frame, a semi-hidden battery, and wide tires. After much searching, I chose the BURCHDA brand.
BURCHDA offers models such as the RX20/RX70 and the higher-level RX80/RX50. The RX50 does not have a central shock absorber, but the RX80 does. Since I have some bumpy roads in daily use and prefer off-roading, I chose the RX80.
Why did I order from burchda-official-eu.com?
Because the official website has a 2-year warranty, and its warehouse is in Poland, which can deliver quickly, I was able to receive my beloved electric bike in about a week. The buying experience on their website is very good, the customer service is very communicative, all my inquiries were answered satisfactorily, and there are gifts such as bike locks, phone holders, air pumps, mudguards, headlights, chargers and even helmets.
The main features of this bike include its 1kW DC motor, which is much more powerful than the typical 250W motors in most electric bikes. It also has an LCD color display, a feature rarely seen in Western brands at this price point.
After researching local bike brands in North America and Europe, I found it rare to have a color display in a bike that costs more than 1000 euros. This bike also has a 20Ah battery capacity and a 7-speed Shimano gearbox. It offers three riding modes: pure electric, electric assist and pedal assist, with five levels of electric assist.
Its maximum theoretical speed ranges from 40 to 45 km/h, but in real-world situations, factors such as weight, wind speed and terrain can affect this speed. For daily commuting, I feel that speeds exceeding 30 km/h are unnecessary and potentially unsafe.
Other notable features include hydraulic brakes, front shocks for added comfort, and a decent headlight. The size of the bike might be a challenge for smaller riders, but overall, it performed as I expected.
The choice of an e-bike over a motorcycle was influenced by several factors. Initially, I was attracted to motorcycles in 2022 and even took steps to get a license. However, high insurance costs and the mismatch between my commuting needs and the capabilities of a motorcycle made me reconsider. After watching numerous reviews on YouTube, I realized that e-bikes offered the flexibility and functionality I was looking for, which led to my decision to purchase the RX80.
